Loropetalum chinense For Decoration 

Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum， It is an evergreen shrub or small tree. The bark is dark gray or light gray brown, with many branches. The tender branches are reddish brown and densely covered with star shaped hairs. Leaves are leathery and alternate in texture, oval or elliptical in shape, measuring 2-5cm in length. The tip is short and pointed, and the base is round and skewed, asymmetrical. Both sides have star shaped hairs, and the entire margin is dark red on the leaf surface. The back is slightly gray. There are 4 petals, with a purple red linear length of 1-2cm, and 3-8 flowers clustered at the ends of small branches. The capsule is brown in color and nearly oval in shape. The flowering period is from April to May, with a long flowering period of about 30-40 days. It blooms again during the National Day holiday. 3-8 flowers clustered on the main stem in a terminal inflorescence, purple red in color. The fruiting period is August. Mainly distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and southern regions, as well as northern India. Flowers, roots, and leaves can be used for medicinal purposes.
